Chapter 17: Wayfinding
Hours and Hours
While this may seem like a song about a relationship, it was written when I was trying to figure out what was next in my life–and how my future seemed unclear. It felt like I was avoiding what was next. And yet, it was through writing this song that I ended up coming back to Indy, creating a community I care deeply about, meeting my wife, starting my business. It was the beginning of my Wayfinding journey.
Hours and Hours by Brandon Wilson
Sometimes I wonder
Why I wander around
Sailing through cities
I listen for sounds
Of you
I think about you on and off
As I walk through town
Feet fall like petals
It’s the best I know how
And you
Hold out
For hours and hours
And you
Hold out
For hours and hour
Sometimes I settle
For what’s lying around
The pot for the kettle
You come back unannounced
Then you
Fall out
For hours and hours
And you
Fall out
For hours and hours
Then one day
Comes too soon to say
What all of me wants to say
Sometimes stay
Sometimes away
Sometimes I wonder
Why I wander around
I wander around
