chapter 17:
wayfinding
Lost and Found
This is a song about discovering your compass–and listening to it.
Lost and Found by Brandon Wilson
first time i held compass I was out of my depth
out in the woods I dare not take a step
what if I lose my way?
what if I lose my place?
though years have passed there’s still a thought
if I go too far, will I get lost?
when I know right where I stand
and there’s much worse spots for me to land
keep adding numbers to my age
expand the regions I’ve surveyed
I’m getting closer to a space
where I feel at home everyday
there’s no end, but to my days
I keep making my own way
I feel my compass in my heart
telling me when to stop and when to start
whenever I lose my way
I take a breath and give it space
before I know it there’s a path
I take a step and don’t look back
