Part 3: aligning your life with your voice

Still
I spent much of my 20’s and 30’s running. At first, it was literal. From going away to college and then moving again and again and again. It wasn’t until my late 30’s that I really slowed down and started creating the life I wanted. And pretty quickly after that, I realized how amazing life could be. That’s what this song is about.

Still by Brandon Wilson

I sit still all morning
Shocks me to this moment
See I couldn’t still for nothing
For years I kept on runnin

And when I stopped
My knee was jumping
My toes were tapping
My fingers drumming
I was gone

Quiet through the sunrise
Birds begin their incantations
I listen for the replies
I always wonder what they’re saying

And then I stop
To slip in slowly
The river flowing
Ice caps melting
I stay

I wonder where I’m going
No one knows the destination
Sometimes we’re just floating
It’s natural I know it

But then I stop

Morning turns to evening
The afternoon an intimation
Of something I’ve been feeling
The in between is where we’re waiting

Then I stop
